Patients who suffer from Chronic Snoring or Sleep Apnoea have found these devices life changing, both for themselves and the people they share a bedroom with!

M.A.D
A Mandibluar Advancement Device (MAD) is a custom made mouthguard, used to adjust the position of your jaw forwards when sleeping. This results in the soft tissues of the soft palate and throat being held open, preventing or reducing blockage of the upper airway.
80% of people who experience Chronic Snoring or Sleep Apnoea have found improvement in their sleep quality and daytime energy levels after wearing a MAD.
What is sleep Apnoea?
In short, Sleep Apnoea is a relatively common condition where the walls of the throat relax during sleep, thus interrupting normal breathing. This can be caused by lack of muscle tone in your airway, which causes the airway to collapse and become obstructed. Luckily your brain is clever enough to waken you up, usually with a gasp or loud snore as you start to breathe normally again. People with Sleep Apnoea can stop breathing several times in an hour. This leads to regularly interrupted sleep, which can have a sizeable impact on quality of life.
Symptoms of sleep Apnoea or Chronic Snoring
Heavy Snoring
Excessive sleepiness during the day- easily falling to sleep whilst at work or watching TV
Irritability
Depression or Anxiety
Waking with a headache
Not feeling refreshed after a sleep

Have you considered using a Snoring App?
Snoring apps are great for you to hear and see your level of snoring and finding out how this could be affecting your quality of sleep.
Case Study….
Below are some screen shots of a snore app used by a patient who came to see us. He had suffered from chronic snoring for years. He had been given various devices to use, including a CPAP machine (used for patients with diagnosed sleep apnoea). He had also had nasal surgery to try and combat the snoring.
During his visit to us he filled out an “Epworth Sleepiness Scale” questionnaire. The results showed that he was in fact suffering significant tiredness in his day-to-day life as a result of the chronic snoring. After discussions it was decided that a custom made MAD (Mandibular Advancement Device) would be a good option.
When the patient returned to us after using the custom made device, the results shown on his Snoring App spoke for themselves…!
The first two images show results of the app without the Mandibular Advancement Device being used… Epic Snoring was recorded!
The second pictures show the snoring recorded with the MAD in use… Amazing results, and a better nights sleep all round!
